Bard Fest 2022 Auditions Info!

Important Information
 
Attention Actors of Color!   Bard Fest wants you!  Bard Fest practices gender and color blind casting.  Please join us!

Dates of auditions  :  Sunday July 24th  10am to 6pm  

& Monday July 25th 7 to 10pm.
They will be held at the Theater at the Fort   8920 Otis Ave, Indianapolis, IN 46216

All auditions are by appointment.   Arrange for a date & time by sending a request to firstfolioplayers@gmail.com

   All actors are asked to prepare a monologue no longer
than 1 - 2 minutes.  


   Bard Fest runs from October 7th through November 15th 2022.  Each show will run two weekends.  Look below to see the location and dates of the individual productions.  Rehearsals are typically 6 weeks prior to opening night.  

  All actors and crew members will be paid a stipend based on a profit sharing agreement. 

All participants in the festival must be fully vaccinated 
against Covid-19.  No Exceptions.

  The directors have precast some roles.  Available roles are listed below along with a play synopsis and character list

CHARACTERS/AVAILABLE ROLES:

 

Maggie Dalton - TBD - 30s - 50s, a talented if untested director and advocate for the women of

The Post Theatre. Also plus the chorus

 

Ellsworth Snow - TBD - late 40s - mid 60s, The severe board president of The Post Theatre, with

a tender spot for his wife, Winnifred. Must be open to some light drag

 

Stewart Lasker - TBD - 20s - 40s, The tightly-wound stage manager of The Post Theatre.

Also plays Mistress Quickly. (This role is a Cisgendered gay man. A Queer, trans, or

non-binary actor is preferred for this role). 

 

Ida Green - TBD - 20s - 40s, The imaginative and resourceful costume designer for The Post Theatre.

Also plays Hotspur. Some stage combat required (no previous experience necessary).

Only women of color will be considered for this role. 

 

June Bennett - TBD - late teens-early 20s, hard-working but shielded. The ingenue. Also plays the Kates.
