"No other drama by Shakespeare -not even King Lear, A Midsummer Night's Dream, or the Tempest so engulfs us in a phantasmagoria.....A great killing machine, Macbeth is endowed by Shakespeare with something less than ordinary intelligence, but with a power of fantasy so enormous that pragmatically it seem's to be Shakespeare's own."
- Harold Bloom
The season will open with Shakespeare’s Macbeth.
Certainly, one of Shakespeare’s most popular works, this mystifying drama about fate, family, and control is known for its iconic trio of witches and impactful language about the effects of guilt on the human condition. Emerging director and current Div(x)Fest fellow at IndyFringe, Christine Gordon will take audiences to a magical theatrical world where some of Shakespeare’s most complex characters are caught in a vital conflict between nature and nurture.
