THE SHOW
He's a lounge-singing womanizer, and he's just been booed off The Verona's stage.
She's the snide and sassy daughter of a wealthy casino owner, and, until she's married and out of the house, her beautiful younger sister isn't allowed to date.
When Petruchio (Davey Pelsue) arrives at The Padua to visit his old friend, Horenstio (Robert Webster, Jr.), a plot to marry the penniless lounge-singing slob to the wealthy and willful 'shrew' of The Padua, Katharina (Hannah Elizabeth), is devised. The only problem is that Katharina isn't fooled or even charmed by Petruchio's lewd advances, which vexes the long-line of suitors forming at the heels of her younger sister, the beautiful and sweet Bianca (Abby Gilster).
Hilarity, romance, music and—of course—some wooing come together in an irreverent and joyous whirlwind pop-music adaptation of the Shakespeare classic,
The Taming of the Shrew.
Catalyst is thrilled to take on this dated comedy classic with a fresh new spin, with live music performed by our exciting cast and welcoming back the critically acclaimed Tooth of Crime band from Catalyst's last musical venture. It's tame to tame a shrew...or perhaps be tamed trying.
Join us at The Padua, this October.
